Tuesday’s my roommates and I don’t have class, so we worked
out and spent the whole day studying and lounging around, which was wonderful.
Tuesday night however our school blocked a section of seats at the Opera. Madam
Butterfly was playing, so we got dressed up, had a nice dinner, and headed to
the show. I am a huge fan of the arts, but it’s very difficult to watch a show
in another language. It was hard multi-tasking by reading the subtitles, trying
to watch the performers, and attempting to understand what’s going on. My
parents will probably be sad to hear this, but I left at intermission. It was
an amazing experience, I’m so happy I’ll be able to say I saw an Italian opera,
but I don’t think it was for me!
